Call for abstracts

The 6th ICSoR is open to all professionals and stakeholders that want to make the difference in the field of survivors of sexual violence – health care professionals (physicians, psychologists, nurses, midwifes), social workers, researchers, policymakers, legal system professionals (forensics, lawyers, judges, law enforcement officers), voluntaries working in non-governmental organizations, educators, and others.

Abstracts are welcome to cover the following issues: Medical, mental health, social, legal, intervention and support models related with rape, human rights, data collection.

You may submit your abstract by online abstract submission system: www.icsor.org. If you have any questions with the submission process, please contact the congress agency directly at ICSoR[@]thl.fi or suvi.nipuli[@]thl.fi.

Accepted contributions will be presented either as oral presentations or posters according to the decision of the Scientific Committee. The Scientific Committee has all rights to accept or reject the abstract.

All accepted abstracts will be published in the Conference website and in the electronic abstract book, subject to the author’s confirmation of presenting the paper and registering as a paid delegate. The accepted abstracts will be published as typed by the author, including any errors in grammar, spelling or scientific facts.


We are particularly interested in focusing on the following issues:

– Health consequences of sexual violence
– Indicators of recovery
– Collection of forensic medical evidence
– Young and adolescent victims
– Sexual violence as a part of domestic violence
– Asylum seekers and refugees as victims of sexual violence
– Other issues related to sexual violence
The abstract topic should be related to one of these categories.


The title should clearly define the topic, but it should not exceed 20 words. The title should be typed in using small letters, title naturally starting with a capital letter.

Authors and Affiliations

Type first name, last name and affiliation of all authors in the field provided for the authors.

Body of the abstract

Maximum size of the abstract is 250 words. The word limit is for the actual text of the abstract and does not include the title or author details. The abstract must be written in English and should not include any pictures or graphics.

The deadline for abstract submission was May 31 but we are pleased to announce that the deadline has been extended until June 6, 2018.  Please note that after this date you can no longer submit or edit an abstract.
