Riina Korjamo, (Finland) MD, coordinator of the scientific committee

A specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology in Helsinki University Hospital. She is working part time as a consultant in the first Finnish sexual assault resource center called Seri Support Center. The other part of Riina’s work is her PhD project about medical abortion and intrauterine contraception. Riina coordinates the work of the scientific committee.

Lotti Helström, (Sweden) MD, PhD

is an associate professor at the Department of Clinical Science and Education at Karolinska Institutet and a senior consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is the founder of the Rape victim clinic at Stockholm South general Hospital and her main research is about posttraumatic stress disorder and sexuality after rape.

Doris Nilsson (Sweden)

Associate professor in clinical psychology at Linköping University, licensed psychologist and psychotherapist. She has for many years worked with children and adolescents in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and with children and adolescents who have been sexually and/or physically abused. She is the author of several scientific papers concerning traumatized children and adolescents

Hans Peter Söndergaard (Sweden) MD, PhD

is an associate professor at Karolinska Institutet. He is also a clinical psychiatrist and senior consultant at the Crisis and Truama Centre in Stockholm, Sweden. His main research field is stress research and psychotraumatology.

Anna Möller (Sweden) MD, PhD

is a researcher at the Department of Clinical Science and Education, Obstetrics and Gynecology at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm SouthGeneral Hospital. Her research interests include intimate partner violence, posttraumatic stress disorder, and stress-related steroid hormones in rape victims. Anna is a gynecologist and medical director of the Rape Victim Clinic at Stockholm South Hospital.

Ask Elklit (Denmark)

National Centre for Psychotraumatology, University of Southern Denmark and chair of the 1st ICSoR. Professor in clinical psychology at the Institute of Psychology at the Southern Danish University and director of the National Centre for Psychotraumatology. Worked as a clinical psychologist in a pediatric ward and with adult substance addicts. Author of several hundred publications within the trauma field.

Served the Danish Red Cross, Doctors without Borders, RCT (torture victims), and the National Association for Polio-, Traffic- and Accident victims (PTU). Co-founder of the first Danish center for rape victims. Has been involved in developing the specialist program in psychotraumatology for licensed psychologists.

He is a licensed psychologist and a specialist in psychotherapy and has a private practice focusing on personality disorders and severely traumatized clients.

Iva Bicanic (The Netherlands) PhD

A clinical psychologist working with traumatized children, adolescents and young adults. She is the co-ordinator of both the National Trauma Centre in the University Medical Center Utrecht, and the driving force behind the development towards a national network of 16 rape centers in the Netherlands. Iva Bicanic is board member of the Dutch EMDR Association. She recently finished her PhD research on the psychobiological aspects of rape in adolescence.

Laure Morin-Papunen, (Finland)

An associate professor at Oulu University Hospital, Finland. Laure Morin-Papunen is the chief of the department of Reproductive Endocrinology and she is also specialised in Gynecology for Children and Adolescents. She is a senior consultant for sexual assault children. Her main research field is polycystic ovary syndrome. She is the president of the Finnish Society Gynecology for Children and Adolescents (SLANGY).

Antti Sajantila, (Finland), MD, PhD, specialist in forensic medicine

Professor in Forensic Medicine and Medical Director of the Clinical Forensic Medicine Policlinic. Member of the Executive Board of the European Council of Forensic Medicine (ECLM). Member of the Steering Committee of the Independent Forensic Expert Group (IFEG) on Victims of Torture. Worked as a forensic pathologists, forensic geneticists, clinical forensic doctor and autopsy technician. Served in the Finnish Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Team in mass-disasters and various incidences. Served in the Finnish Forensic Expert Team (FFET) in various missions, e.g. Kosovo, Peru and Libya. Research interests related to rape include epidemiology of rape and technical development of rape investigation (DNA and sperm detection using AI and Deep Learning technology).
